Product Manager for growth of cloud attach for Microsoft's MDM (Mobile Device Management) or UEM (Unified Endpoint Management) solution. I was a Product Manager in Azure Cosine Commercial Servicing & Intelligence team. I designed unique cloud co-management workloads that make it easy for SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) customers to embrace cloud-attach with Intune one small step at a time. Thus, I contributed to the growth strategy of Microsoft's cloud MDM solution (Intune), and its execution. Previously, I was a PM for growing Windows as a Service. I strategized, spec’d and delivered a lightweight experimentation platform for defragmenting Windows ecosystem. Through experimentation, I drove a data-informed execution following the vision for Windows as a Service on 1B devices.

Previously, as a Product Manager in the Data Analytics, Platform & Update Publishing Services teams, I contributed in Microsoft’s pivot to Windows as A Service model, or from being a boxed software to a software as a service model. This was a major change in how Microsoft builds, deploys and services Windows. I orchestrated Microsoft's journey in building the next-generation of cross-platform update system in the cloud, so that Windows as a Service customers can get current and stay current. This system was rearchitected from Windows Phone Publishing for scale and cloud (Azure) migration. I also led data driven efforts on how Microsoft listens to customers. For example: enterprise customer feedback text was analyzed using Natural Language Processing techniques (like sentiment analysis) for early detection of regression signals. I ran the KB Watch program that combined signals from different social and device telemetry sources for Windows Leadership and SWAT teams. Before that, I established an end-to-monitoring for Update Publishing Pipeline by instituting an Incident Management System in WSD. My responsibilities included detailed specification writing and driving software engineering life-cycle from there. I collaborated across organizational boundaries and balanced competing priorities to achieve the goals of Windows Servicing and Delivery organization.

At MIT, I was trained on 'How to Make (almost) Anything' (http://fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/863.12/).And I got to research with one of the pioneers of Conversational Systems, the geek of the Media Lab, Chris Schmandt (http://web.media.mit.edu/~geek/). As part of my MS Thesis, I created Pintail, a connected device experience for travel storytelling. During this research, I managed 3 undergraduate students through the MIT UROP program.Wave Alchemy, our team project for Tangible Interfaces class, was featured at a MIT Media Lab 99F party and was published in CHI 2013.I mentored 8 teams (~40 students) in building MVP prototypes from scratch in 4 days. I led the Mobile Ecosystems track of MIT Media Lab India Workshop 2013.

I was a member of NetApp ESG user experience team. As a part of host software development, we delivered value-added storage management applications that were integral to NetApp product offerings. My responsibilities included designing the best-in-class User Experience and Human Factors architecture of storage software products. I designed graphical user interfaces for products following company and industry guidelines and standards. I conducted usability studies and heuristic evaluations on NetApp's products. I worked with program management, development and test teams to refine high-level requirements, consulted/advised on feature sets and provided alternative recommendations that balance technical limitations with product objectives.

Conducted research, tool development and usability analysis in measuring the visual attention of an interface, comparing the techniques of eye-tracking, saliency model & interest point method. Contributed to the research of the multidisciplinary Psychology of Design lab that intends to connect the findings from Cognitive Psychology literature to the context of HCI design, in the areas of information processing, stimulus driven selection and executive selection. I was the first staff at Missouri Western with a background in HCI and usability. My job was to introduce and institutionalize usability and user centered design practices across a range of academic computing services that are primarily offered to the faculty, students or staff of MWSU. I collaborated with the development team and different stakeholders to improve the user experience of existing services through a better interaction design or ideate new ones that would address the unmet need of users.

As an intern, I built a social product from scratch. I developed the Android story client, web-based story creation interface and story server components of a proof-of-concept prototype titled 'Serendipitous Family Stories' at Motorola's Experience Research Lab at Schaumburg, IL (Motorola HQ). This system was created based on results from a study on intergenerational communication over a distance conducted by Motorola Applied Research Center. In a pilot usability study, the intuitiveness of the functional prototype was supported when 2 users were able to create 10 stories in 30 minutes. Our team earned this honor amongst Motorola's 325 interns this summer in 20 locations from over 100 universities represented.

PRODUCT IMPACT Delivered a device independent Push Mail Service in December 2008. It was posited as an alternative to Black Berry solution and thus saved several times the cost. It uniquely combined the messaging world (SMS, MMS) with the internet world (email, instant messaging). It acted as an aggregated email box & instant messenger. Here users could send messages as email or SMS from the same interface. Engineered its user experience & interaction design. Delivered AKTEL Phone Backup Service in March 2008, it was the first ever phone backup solution in Bangladesh, leaving our top competition one year behind the trail. I developed product concepts for an ambitious career portal that would cater the needs of thousands of job-seekers, recruiters, career-planners and other stakeholders. Its aim was to enable people take control of their career and achieve more, utilizing every available access mode. Based on several on-site interviews and brainstorming with founders of this startup, I captured the requirements, analyzed competition, recommended design attributes based on HCI best practices, defined iterative development milestones & strategized phased deployment. My research included a synopsis on relevant Web 2.0 services and concepts for potential innovative business solutions.(If you are wondering, somewhere in... is a Nordic off-shore software development company in Bangladesh. Co-founded 3SM Systems to implement the first ever Bangla SMS product for Citycell or Pacific Bangladesh Telecom Limited (www.citycell.com). The service went live on May 13, 2005. The system converted Bangla Messages in English alphabet into Bangla Messages in Bangla alphabet and then transformed it into a compatible picture message. Co-founded and led 3SM Systems for a Bangla SMS product for GrameenPhone, the leading Bangladeshi Telecom operator (www.grameenphone.com). GrameenPhone then had a subscriber base of more than twenty million. The service was launched on February 21, 2006. The main challenge was to design an input matrix for Bangla, a ‘complex-script’ language. Directed 3SM Systems in building the most innovative version of Bangla SMS, which was customized for Banglalink (Orascom Telecom Bangladesh Limited, www.banglalinkgsm.com). Unfortunately, on the verge of agreement signup, the launch of this product got postponed for an indefinite period. This was because at that time (circa April ’06) Banglalink was yet to introduce their data service (GPRS, WAP, mobile internet), which was a core access mode for provisioning this software. The unique features of this software included:  First implementation of Bangla B9 input method (similar to T9 teachnology of Tegic Communications), which allows a user input Bangla at the rate of merely one keystroke per letter First dictionary based predictive Bangla Input prompt, the user is auto-suggested a list of words during his input. First handset resident content engine for creating and sending Picture SMS: if the user is not sure whether the recipient has this software installed, he can send a picture message which won’t require any software installation at the recipient side for viewing the message.  Intelligent auto-suggestion of conjunct letters after typing of first letters Provision for Bangla & English multi-lingual messaging in the unified SMS A comprehensive set of categorized and editable message templates suitable for different moods and occasions Highly expressive set of emoticons
