I worked with a team responsible for the Support and Development activities for a product called Business Information Server (BIS), which is a highly scalable, enterprise-level, rapid-application development, and information access tool.I was mainly responsible for debugging and development of C++ code using Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 and we used IBM's Rational ClearCase for source code management and version control. Activities also involved building, debugging and testing on Linux platforms (RHEL, SUSE).Working in Agile methodology, I got the knowledge of professional software engineering practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.In my two years’ experience, I resolved more than 30 customer issues and worked on the development of an important feature for the next release of BIS. I also trained couple of new engineers on certain modules.

As a team of 12 coordinators, we were responsible in hunting of Internships and arrangement of On-Campus recruitment drives for the students of 2015 batch. We had to take care of logistics and accommodation for the visiting HR personnel and submit their overall feedback to the college administration. The Placement Team 2015 successfully hosted more than 60 companies for the batch of 2015 and achieved 85% placement record .

In the initial period of the internship, I was taught about topics in HPC, Operating Systems, Distributed Systems and Computer Networking. I was introduced to code optimization and parallelization using OpenMP and MPI. I also got to witness India’s PARAM Supercomputers including PARAM Yuva-II, India’s fastest supercomputer. After the initial training, I was assigned into a team of six and we undertook the project “Porting & Tuning of PHYLIP on CPU & Accelerators (Intel Xeon Phi and NVidia CUDA architectures)”. We continued working on the project in the CDAC facility at our campus and co-authored to publish a paper in the International Journal for Computer Science and Information Technologies (IJCSIT).
