Its main objective is to finance and promote Rural Electrification Projects all over the country. It provides financial assistance to State Electricity Boards, State Government Departments and Rural Electric Cooperatives for Rural Electrification Projects as are sponsored by them. Roles & Responsibilities:▷ Active involvement in central procurement of major high value materials viz., Power Transformer, Distribution Transformer, Overhead Conductor, AB Cable and energy meter to be used for implementation of DDUGJY & IPDS schemes under Ministry of Power, Govt. of India. The major activities in the procurement process are:i) Finalization of Standard technical specifications, aggregation of quantities of all States DISCOMs/Power Depts., Empanelment of vendors through techno- commercial assessment including visits at the manufacturer premise.ii) e-tendering process for inviting bids.iii) e-Reverse Auction for discovering most competitive prices.▷ Involved in consulting in power distribution, defining strategy, drafting policy documents, preparing presentations for senior management and advising clients on various assignments. ▷ Active involvement in three tier Quality Assurance Mechanism for district based projects under DDUGJY across India including material inspection on manufacturer's premises as per REC technical Specification and visiting villages to check quality of electrical works in the field and MIS preparation.▷ Online monitoring of RE works under XII Plan and DDUGJY new scheme through online portal E-gauge & coordination with DISCOMs/PIAs/CPSUs/Power Departments for capturing data of fund disbursement, material mobilization and actual work progress at site.
