Hearings Specialist- Manage and prepare 40 clients per month for SSI/SSDI hearings in front of Administrative Law Judges (ALJs)- Consult with and reassure clients about the stresses of preparing for a disability hearing- Communicate with ALJ clerks in order to ensure hearing process and preparation’s fluidity- Read through, cite, and summarize medical records in order to establish basis of disability case and onset dates for clients in order to prepare for hearings- Communicate with client and request/obtain pertinent information necessary to develop argument for their disability claim- Summarize medical history and prepare disability representative/lawyer through writing a pre-hearing representative brief prior to each disability hearing- Communicate and co-manage hearings assistant- Request medical records- Follow up with medical facilities and schools for medical records- Request subpoenas from ALJs to obtain records from non-compliant facilities
