Reporting to the Licensing Manager, I am responsible for assessing and recommending the approval of more complex and unique application for new builder licenses, builder license renewals, and owner builder authorization in accordance with the Homeowner Protection Act. • Respond to complicated inquiries from residential builders, owner builders and the public regarding licensing process.• Provide guidance and coaching to licensing officers in reviewing applications, interpreting the… Show more Reporting to the Licensing Manager, I am responsible for assessing and recommending the approval of more complex and unique application for new builder licenses, builder license renewals, and owner builder authorization in accordance with the Homeowner Protection Act. • Respond to complicated inquiries from residential builders, owner builders and the public regarding licensing process.• Provide guidance and coaching to licensing officers in reviewing applications, interpreting the legislation, and responding to inquiries from residential builders, owner builders and the general public.• Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for licensing staff.• Assist in the day to day supervision of the Licensing Officers including such tasks as monitoring workflow and productivity, ensuring integration of tasks and auditing files for compliance with the Act and procedures.• Monitor that Homeowner Protection Office fees is paid and collected as set out in the Act and process refunds requests for the Licensing Department.• Respond to builder and warranty complaints using good judgment and tact.• Employ strong time management skills and utilizes task list to ensure that duties are performed in a timely manner.• Advice the Manager Licensing of issues regarding workload including both challenges and opportunities to assist with other department needs. • Ensure that data integrity, audit standards and good judgment are maintained in all processes and procedures.• Recommend changes to procedures and enhancements to computer applications to improve efficiencies and effectiveness. • Participate in user testing of the licensing database and portals by performing assigned testing and providing feedback on issues. • Assist with the documentation of department procedures and interpretation of guidelines. • Prepare statistics and reports to support the Licensing function and assist the Manager Licensing and Registrar with branch reporting needs.
