Neuroscience research at Dr. Rey’s lab in the department of Neurosurgery. We record and analyze single neuron activity from electrodes inserted deep in the brain of patients with epilepsy being evaluated for neurosurgery. We study different aspects of the human brain like vision, memory and motor function.

Main area of research & development is surface reconstruction from 3D point cloud data acquired during cardiac mapping using interpretable machine learning models. The maps are used to study the electrical circuit of the heart. Developed interpretable generative models that are able to reconstruct patient-specific cardiac models that aid navigation and study electrical activity using a Bayesian framework. Other notable contributions are activation maps, voltage maps, 3D-2D registration of reconstructed 3D model onto flouro images, cryoballoon visualization.

Worked as the lead for 3D viewer module of the Navik3D software suite for elepctroanatomical mapping and navigation in cardiac ablation procedures.

Cardiac MRI analysis using Deep Learning. Developed Deep Learning solutions for cardiac segmentation based on generative models. Implemented distributed training for multi-GPU systems.

Main area of work involves generation and visualization of patient-specific 3D cardiac chamber models for real-time guidance in cardiac ablation procedures. Other notable projects are ITELL(Language lab) for virtual classrooms, SmartJoules (Predictive analytics for energy usage monitoring).

Project : Design and development of a Intentional Electromagnetic Interference (IEMI) generator to study vulnerability of electronic devices to EMI.Responsibilities :- Read publications on HPM and create an initial set up.- Learn about microwave sources like magnetron, klystron etc- Learn about waveguides and antennas to effectively transmit electromagnetic energy.- Design rectangular waveguides and horn antennas based on the source energy generation.- Develop code in Matlab to get design details of the waveguide and antenna.- Acquire source, rectangular Aluminum pipes (for waveguide) and Aluminum sheets for horn antenna.- Develop code in Matlab to compute the field and generate 3D views of the radiation patterns.- Create a report which includes the design details of the IEMI generator and the vulnerability study done using the IEMI generator.
