I graduated from Bradford University in 1989, starting my career initially in community pharmacy, diversifying to practice pharmacist/independent prescriber; progressing on to Senior Medicines Optimisation Pharmacist at North Staffs and Stoke on Trent CCG. More recently, I left the CCG to work full time in general practice as a clinical pharmacist. I have a strong and varied prescribing background, gaining a wide range of experience in general practice, walk-in-centres, urgent care centres and out of hours services. I have used this experience in mentoring and encouraging pharmacists who aspire to be clinical pharmacists, breaking down barriers and demonstrating how clinical pharmacists can be integrated in the primary care team and deliver good quality patient care
