As a 1st grade teacher, I provided virtual, hybrid, concurrent and in-person instruction throughout the pandemic. I enthusically integrate socio-emotional and mindfulness activities throughout the day. I am an active learner and participant in 1st Grade Team meetings and CTs and serving on Language Arts Curriculum Alignment and Planning Committee and Mathematics Curriculum Alignment and Planning Committee, during summer 2022. I have completed International Baccalaureate Training: Making the PYP happen: Implementing agency (Cat.1) workshop as well as IMSE Orton Gillingham Comprehensive Literacy Training.

I assisted the classroom teacher in managing the classroom. I met with students in small guided reading and word study groups as well as math workshop groups.

As a 3rd Grade Teacher, I was an active participant in our Collaborative Learning Team, using data to direct standards-based instruction in math and language arts. I helped to create math units integrating technology and hands-on learning in a responsive classroom environment. In addition, I implemented Lucy Calkins Language Arts Program and assisted in developing and implementing Student 504 and Indivdualized Education Plans.

I provided chidren (infants - 5 years) and their caregivers with opportunities to participate in a variety of music and movement activites, at multiple Fairfax County Public Libraries.

I taught mixed-aged classes for communities of families sharing songs, instrument play, movement, dance and rhythm activities in a child-centered, playful and musically-rich environment. Through developmentally appropriate experiences, children developed musical skills such as keeping a beat and singing in tune, while having fun sharing their skills with a parent/caregiver.

I served on the Reading Texbook Adoption Committee, Social Studies Curriculum Committee, and Improvement of Instructional Day Committee.

I taught courses (Guiding the Behavior of Young Children, Math/Science Activities for Young Children) to Associate Degree candidates and to child care providers working toward fulfilling the Credentialing Program requirements for Child Development Associate (CDA).

I developed thematic units integrating math, reading, language arts and social studies.
