Vietnamese female consumers had a particularly culturally conservative point of view on how to relate to a sensitive product like this, unlike other Asian countries I had worked in on the same products. We produced measurable research results trying some daring approaches increasing Brand awareness. -

Thailand May 2001 - May 2005Bangkok, ThailandAppointed as Regional creative director on Kao Japan products including detergents, skincare, sanitary protection, and shampoo with the intention of creating unified integrated advertising across the Asian region. I consistently travelled to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam to guide, strategize, and direct the creative output along with writing the advertising, rationales and presenting to clients for the respective Dentsu offices. I worked on numerous pitches as well.Also worked on Tourism Authority of Thailand.Participated in many research sessions and assisting with managing questionaires for the research companies. It was a fantastic learning experience regarding the similarities and vast differences between the 5 countries. I never realized detergents and sanitary protection could become such a an interesting product to debate and to enlist strong emotions for consumers.It was one of the best, most rewarding positions I have had in my career in terms of learning about life and lives of others.
