A magazine story I wrote about Mennonites smuggling heroin, cocaine and weed between Canada and Mexico was optioned and turned into the fictionalized CBC series, Pure, that aired in The spring of 2017, starring Rosie Perez. A second season was filmed, and aired on Hulu, Super Channel and WGN America in 2019.

In my role, I led a team of writers and editors who created content and communications that inspired, educated and engaged. My team was not only responsible for helping to position Deloitte leaders as experts, but designing communication strategies that helped to build the Deloitte brand in the marketplace. We strategized and then executed on everything from communications plans to media articles, webinars, speeches, blogs, infographics, motion graphics, white papers, apps and podcasts. I was also responsible for helping to activate our brand across a spectrum of vehicles--ie. ensuring messages were on brand, and consistent with the visual identity. My team was also responsible for ensuring, quality and tone of voice, and that content was optimized for online, SEO, social media, email, print and mobile.We also worked closely with Deloitte's digital team to develop lead generation and lead nurturing campaigns to target sales prospects and existing clients.As a strong advocate of continuous learning, I also envisioned and implemented a learning curriculum for 250 marketing professionals to better drive the business.

Wrote compelling speeches for the Premier of Ontario and deputy ministers to deliver to a wide variety of stakeholders and the public. Developed strategic messaging, media kits and news releases that helped increase positive exposure of the government’s achievements and new initiatives. Provided communications advice on various files including energy, health and finance. Drafted content for the Premier’s Twitter and Facebook accounts and for government websites.

Lead speechwriter for the CEO at a government agency introducing North America’s first and most comprehensive green energy program. Producing briefing notes on issues of strategic importance to the organization. Providing advice on a range of communication issues for external audiences as well as writing, editing and producing reports.
