Yestermorrow Design/Build School inspires people to create a better, more sustainable world through hands-on education that integrates design, craft, and environmental awareness. I created and executed a comprehensive marketing, communications, and fundraising program to expand Yestermorrow's reach. When I arrived at Yestermorrow, enrollment was hovering at 20% below budget; with the communications plan in full effect for two years, Yestermorrow achieved 2014 enrollment goals three months ahead of the fiscal year end.• Built a strategic fundraising program, working collaboratively with board members, instructors, and staff to significantly increase current-use funds and meet long-term program goals. Fundraising revenues at Yestermorrow increased 35% overall during my tenure.• Led strategy development toward building Yestermorrow’s enrollment through targeted marketing, fresh messaging, and integrated storytelling. Facilitated team consensus on strengthening Yestermorrow’s brand look and feel, developing an on-target tagline and an engaging print presentation with a Vermont-strong feel to convey the school’s core personality. VLS is a different kind of law school: independent, progressive, an incubator for collaborative learning, a training ground for social justice lawyers. I held several positions in my tenure there.• Strategized and executed annual giving outreach, including writing and managing all direct mail and web-based communications, making direct donor solicitations, and creating new avenues of engagement through social media and student contact.
