I am member of the Louisiana and Texas bar associations and have a Martindale-Hubbell rating of AV Preeminent lawyer. My practice generally consists of construction, procurement, insurance defense, and commercial litigation matters. I provide guidance to construction clients on regulatory compliance and licensing concerns, helping contractors obtain the requisite Louisiana licenses and approval prior to bidding and breaking ground on a project. I also assist clients in identifying and avoiding legal pitfalls on construction projects and guide them through every step of a project. When a construction project does not go as planned, I can assist with resolving performance or payment disputes, as well as preparing contract claims, certified claims, and litigating the dispute. When construction defects arise following completion, I represent owners, contractors, and insurance carriers on primary and excess claims and as subrogated carriers on either seeking pre-litigation resolution or in litigating the claim. In addition to my construction background, I am also experienced in working in the government contract arena regulated by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS). I consult with government contractors on teaming agreements, procurement disputes, protests, claims, and reporting procedures and maintain credentials sufficient to access certain restricted procurements.I also work to defend insurance carriers and businesses in commercial disputes, working to obtain the most efficient and cost-effective result. When litigation is necessary, I am prepared to represent my client and work to utilize motion practice, if possible, to short circuit the litigation. I am prepared and experienced in bringing matters to trial and represent my clients zealously.
