As Senior Specialist, Science Research and Innovation, Susan leads the implementation of actions to increase the likelihood of greater resiliency in conservation outcomes consistent with WWF-Canada’s conservation goals. This includes providing science-based expertise and guidance on building resilient outcomes across the organization. Susan represents WWF-Canada in external discussions and fora to remain up-to-date on best practice resiliency and to promote WWF-Canada’s conservation and resiliency perspective, and builds relationships with key stakeholders and partners to demonstrate climate change adaptation and resilience building concepts in practice.

As Advisor, Conservation Science I lead the development and implementation of WWF-Canada’s Strategy to mainstream climate change considerations into our conservation programming and facilitated staff wide Climate-Smart training. As part of this role I was responsible for providing in-depth analysis of leading-edge conservation science relating to climate change impacts, adaptation, resilience building, social-ecological systems, ecosystem services, and natural resource stewardship.
