About Susan Glenn

As the Founder and Chair of Friends of Minnehaha Park, I lead a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to preserving and enhancing one of Minneapolis' most iconic and beloved parks. With a master's degree in library and information science and a bachelor's degree in English, I have a passion for learning and sharing the rich history and stories of the park and its surroundings.I have over 40 years of experience as a librarian and manager at Hennepin County Library, where I developed and implemented innovative programs and services for children and young adults, as well as mentored and coached staff and volunteers. I received multiple awards for my contributions to the library and the community, including the MPL Director's Award and the HCL Innovation and Improvement Award. I have been a member of several professional associations and community organizations that support literacy, education, and youth development, and I am a current member of neighborhood, business and environmental stewardship organizations that support environmental advocacy.
