I am grateful every day for my journey: my family, friends, work, and activities. With all of the changes we have experienced in 2020, my heart and mind have been drawn to make another change and get back to the business of helping others. After years of volunteering and taking an active part in my community, I believe my volunteer experience, along with my career experience, will allow me to work in a community-focused organization intent on facilitating positive and impactful change. Michelle Obama expresses the sentiment of feeling the need to change better than I in the following quote from her book Becoming: “Success isn’t about how your life looks to others. It’s about how it feels to you. We realized that being successful isn’t about being impressive, it’s about being inspired.
