In my role as Senior Special Events Manager I am responsible for the Women's Golf Classic that is held in April in Scottsdale and The Stock Market Challenge in October. My job responsibilities include fundraising, recruiting new committee members and managing several committee groups, logistics for the event, budget, soliciting sponsors, acquiring silent and live auction items, and managing volunteers.Junior Achievement changes lives by empowering young people to own their economic success. I served as the senior staff member of the marketing and business development team, ensuring the firm retains clients and key relationships. I was responsible for a major partnership with Pacific Dental Services and regularly engaged in cross brand promotions, organizing speaking engagements and securing key stakeholder relationships. I managed the marketing budget of the firm, and ensure marketing programs are revenue positive. I engaged with advertisers to ensure the promotion of our brand and business and have recently been responsible for a re-branding campaign within the organization.

I owned and operated an international import and distribution firm specializing in two major brands – Psi Bands and BooginHead. Psi Bands, the core product in the business, is a drug-free wristband which relieves nausea caused by morning sickness, travel sickness, chemotherapy and anesthesia. In my role as Managing Director, I secure large and small retail accounts with chemists, pharmacies and large retailers. As a major component of the business, I regularly presented my range of products at national expos and trade shows and well as large markets. I was responsible for all aspects of trade show organization including venue hire, logistics, stand design, travel and accommodation, bump in and bump out, and budgeting. I also manage all aspects of public relations, ensuring the company receives regular exposure in various magazines and websites. I developed a customer retention strategy to ensure replenishment orders were received and fulfilled on a regular basis.

Worked with the Foundation to manage large-scale charity events and integrated marketing campaigns. In my role, I developed long term marketing partnerships, developed brand campaigns, social media strategies, and multi-year marketing plans. I assisted in developing successful cross-marketing campaigns with well known brands. Additionally, I successfully managed the 2010 and 2011 Day of Difference black-tie gala event, held at Star City Casino and Four Seasons, Circular Quay. I managed all event elements: venue booking, theme/concept design, budget management, volunteer recruitment and training, table layout, silent auction, major auction, sponsorships, entertainment guest list, accommodation booking, seating and catering, and post-event evaluation. I managed the Annual Day of Difference Cycling Events (Entoure Cycle Classic) which included getting large corporations to rally teams together to participate in the 3 day, 400km rides. I assisted teams and riders track and build donations through an online program called GoFundraise. I planned practice rides every weekend before the event. I obtained multiple sponsors for the events. I organized police escort and food breaks throughout the journey. I motivated the teams in the weeks leading up to the race. I managed pre and post event fundraising and prize/incentive fulfillment. I arranged media coverage for our rides. Additionally, assisted the Foundation in securing PR and media attention and updating and servicing their website.

Served as a senior buyer, negotiating pricing with several vendors, purchasing computers and peripherals, ordering print jobs, office supplies and promotional items for the entire organisation. I designed (non-technical build) an online promotional items store. The website, available to employees in Arizona and Nevada, provides the ability for each location to order various products, add items to a shopping cart and purchase the items via credit card, cheque or individual cost centre/purchase order. Additionally, worked with various business units within the bank to coordinate customer acquisition and new business development.

One of my roles as marketing coordinator was spearheading the annual Arizona 100 event, highlighting the 100 best performing private enterprises in the State of Arizona. This role included sending, receiving and reviewing applications for inclusion. Upon entering the applications into a database for ranking, I analysed the information provided to give to various media outlets. I coordinated all aspects of the event including venue, catering, and logistics. Additionally, I coordinated a quarterly CEO breakfast series, featuring top CEO’s from Arizona’s most recognised businesses (Allied Waste, Avent, America West Airlines/US Airways). I also served as the firm’s client satisfaction coordinator, working with the partners to survey all of the firm’s clients, entering responses into a bespoke database system. Once all surveys were completed, I ran an analysis of the responses and distributed to the partners for direct client follow and service improvement, if and when necessary. Additional tasks included working with partners directly to create and submit service proposals and tender responses, coordinated the firm’s corporate social responsibility scheme.
