Management of treatment units through organisation and effective resourcing of staff in accordance with clinical need of the department. Ensure maximum efficiency of the running of the treatment unit, through preparation of the patient's schedule and delegating tasks to team members. Maintaining high standards of treatment delivery and patient care in accordance with departmental protocols. Encouraging and supporting staff to establish a motivated and dynamic work environment. Member of quality team in department, key role in incident and quality management, using both prospective and retrospective tools to mitigate risk. Responsibile for chemical and risk assessments of the radiotherapy department. Attending multidisciplinary team meetings to address patient care issues and side effects management. Assisting the departmental manager in the development and approval of departmental policies and procedures in line with national guidelines and evidence based practice. Supporting staff to conduct departmental research projects and assist in the continuous professional development of staff. Mentor to both students and more junior clinical staff, by providing induction and training for staff, ensuring competency is reached in both technical and clinical ability. Effective communicator and patient advocate, ensuring patients have a clear understanding of their treatment process, from pre-CT through treatment and side effects management. Implementation, management and co-ordination of new treatment procedures.Regular staff communication regarding changes to working practice, including new treatment techniques and incident learning.
