Susan is providing strategy consulting to businesses and non-profit organizations. Drawing on her expertise launching and leading organizations, and as a former McKinsey and Company management consultant, she supports clients to develop growth strategies and build their organizations. Prior to this, Susan launched College Track in the DC Metro Area, as the Founding Regional Executive Director. In partnership with the Kevin Durant Family Foundation, the Clark Foundation, PGCPS, DCPS, TMA and Friendship PCS, she opened two College Track Centers, which currently support roughly 500 first generation students to succeed in college. She hired and led the Site Directors and regional team, built partnerships, raised funds, managed facilities projects, created a strong Advisory Board, and secured scholarships. Susan also served as Founding Executive Director of the Flamboyan Foundation in D.C., where she led the organization and built the high performing team and strategic partnerships that together have changed the state of family engagement, and measurably improved student outcomes, in D.C. traditional and public charter schools. Previously, she directed strategy and operations for United Way Worldwide's Success By 6, a national coalition of early childhood networks. During her tenure, Success By 6, in partnership with the Ad Council and the Families and Work Institute, launched Born Learning, a public engagement campaign that, to date, has helped more than 15 million parents understand how to use everyday moments as learning moments. Prior to that, she worked in international development, running Ashoka's international programs and launching new Ashoka programs in 11 Latin American countries. She also worked as a management consultant and engagement manager with McKinsey and Company in New York and Argentina and has an MBA from Stanford University's Graduate School of Business. Early in her career, Susan worked for Save the Children in Bolivia and for Amigos de las Americas in Mexico, Costa Rica and Honduras. She speaks Spanish fluently. Susan was the 2016 recipient of the national Jocelyn Graves Award for Distinguished Service to Public Education. She was selected to join Leadership Greater Washington in 2015 and the Federal City Council in 2019. Susan also serves on the Advisory Council for AMIGOS and on the New Leadership Council for Ashoka.
