Executive Creative DirectorPatients For Change Dec 2015 - PresentCorte MaderaPatients for Change is based upon my personal experience as a managed care patient where I faced all of the problems connected to being a managed care patient leading to my having to save my own life. The book that I wrote concerning this journey is the recently published Patient Health Care Survival Guide which began as a diary I wrote to help me maintain my sanity during my ordeal Being a person with a long history of advocacy, I knew two things: something had to be done to change the healthcare system in America and that one person could not do it alone. However, recognizing that there are millions of patients whose voices are not being heard, I thought that the way to call attention and to solve the problem was to organize those who being affected, first by creating a nonprofit organization and second to create a website dedicated to patient's support and advocacy. If we did that, together we could move mountains. That is now a reality: Patientsforchange.org is both a nonprofit organization and our website is up and in the development stages. Join us won't you? We need your help. Become an agent of change. It takes a village. -
