Part of core team that worked on the independent public inquiry into the Non-Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive Scheme (RHI Inquiry), where Ofgem was a core participant. My duties included managing ongoing disclosure exercises, advising key internal clients, drafting witness statements, and representing Ofgem at the RHI hearings in Belfast. Interfaced with and provided legal advice to policy clients regarding electricity and gas code modifications, derogations, capacity market decisions, and FOIA and EIR requests. Conducted research about public law topics in domestic and European legislation, and drafted substantive legal briefings. Legal review of public consultation responses and issues arising from proposed reforms of the electricity charging scheme (Targeted Charging Review). Project lead in construction and drafting of the legal direction document, which will guide industry to implement the outcomes of the Targeted Charging Review.

The Financial Conduct Authority is the conduct regulator for financial services and financial markets in the United Kingdom. As an Associate in the Authorisations department, the role requires interrogation of business models/structures, evaluation of financial and technological policies, anti-money laundering and fraud detection policies. Assessments of fitness to practice within the context of existing financial regulations (i.e. money laundering regulations) and the newly implemented Payment Service Regulations 2017.

The Housing Ombudsman is an impartial office that looks into concerns about social housing issues, with a particular focus upon resolving conflict via dispute resolution principles. Duties and responsibilities include determining complaints, assessing jurisdictional matters, drafting determinations (reports), managing caseloads, engaging in negotiation and dispute resolution with external parties.

The Health and Disability Commissioner is a New Zealand Crown Entity that promotes and protects the rights of health and disability consumers, and facilitates the fair and efficient resolution of complaints. Duties and responsibilities included assessing complaints, researching legal and factual issues, gathering and assessing information, conducting investigations, preparing and drafting investigatory reports, training new staff members, liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
