Partner with ED in leading MVWIB’s career center monitoring program which is a state pilot, and career center certification. Created/oversee trainings that launch unskilled, primarily male, job seekers into middle income jobs focusing on heavy equipment operation, truck driving, environmental remediation, and wastewater collections. Grant-writing: Formulate proposals for competitive federal and state opportunities; private foundations. Selected awards include $790K in 3 MA Workforce Competitiveness Trust Fund grants, 4 EPA awards (‘11-$300K; ‘13-$200K; ‘15-$190K; ’17-$200K), $25K and $250K CommCorp grants for healthcare, $55K MA Clean Energy Center.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic

Led annual and 3-year strategic program planning. Developed projects in collaboration with partners in primary health, sustainable agriculture, and micro enterprise, including solar photovoltaic businesses. Successfully leveraged $500,000 USAID support for a $750,000 3-year sustainable agricultural initiative. Used participatory methods to work with counterparts and farmers associations to collaboratively planproject. Fostered collaborative relationships with Dominican organizations, the Dominican government, Catholic Bishops and clergy, and local associations. Hosted events, most notably a CRS 50th anniversary celebration and a CRS agency-wide conference held in the Dominican Republic. Was in charge of all aspects of office administration and financial management.

Conducted classroom and practical training in the areas of water and sanitation, and in community education. Designed field activities including building a dam for a microhydro water system, ferrocement tanks for rainwater catchment, and latrine construction.

Directed the local workforce in expanding the facilities of this sustainable agriculture training center located in the remote rural northwest of the DR.
