Beginning in October 2014, Susan was appointed to the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Not-for Profit Organizations Expert Panel. The Expert Panel focuses on industry-specific business reporting issues, with a focus on audit and accounting. The Expert Panel enables standard setters, such as the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the General Accounting Standards Board (GASB), to leverage the expertise of AICPA’s membership and provides a means for the profession to liaise with outside groups, such as regulators. During her tenure on the Expert Panel, significant new standards related to financial reporting, accounting for grants and contribution, revenue recognition and leases were issued.
