Following a promotion to director of corporate communications with Orange Lake Resorts, a vacation ownership company with 13 resorts across the United States, I provided strategic direction for all communications initiatives. As an integral member of the Crisis Communications Team, I worked with my team to establish comprehensive policies and procedures to guide senior management in addressing and responding to sensitive situations. In addition to serving as media spokesperson, I developed and implemented a media training program which prepared nearly 65 resort managers for communicating with media and other stakeholders during a crisis situation. Working closely with various business units, I led the strategic planning and implementation of a robust internal communications agenda aimed at improving employee engagement. Together with team members, I orchestrated the re-branding of all existing communications channels and established detailed plans for the launch of an interactive Intranet and TV channel for employee break rooms. I worked closely with the senior executive team to create a focused corporate social responsibility platform, aimed at increasing employee engagement, enhancing company reputation and providing guidance and resources to resort management. Leveraging deep experience in public relations, I provided strategic direction to the PR and social media team, integrating PR into marketing strategies to support objectives of several business units including HR, resort operations, rental, sales and referral marketing.
