Susan is currently working on the two things she loves the most: Food & Video Games. She has made a career as a proven leader, educator, facilitator, collaborator, and activist. Ms. Gold has enjoyed working and meeting people in the entertainment sector, be it games, food, or movies for over twenty years. She is a skilled facilitator at bridging art, science, technology, industry & academia. Her ability to utilize her expansive network helps weave together large international audiences and projects. Beyond Susan’s work in games, she frequently writes about some of her favorite things for Food & Beverage Magazine. Susan has been fortunate to explore numerous opportunities working globally. Professor Gold is the creator of the much-loved Global Game Jam®, the annual event that brings together over 49k developers from over the world for one creatively explosive weekend of fun and innovation. In July 2018, Susan led and launched a new extension of the brand, called GGJ NEXT®. Susan is drawn to the diversity that makes up the global independent entrepreneurial communities. She is an activist promoting game education with a specialization in soft skills and collaboration. Evangelizing those skills with an education in digital tools and virtual immersive media, which she feels are necessary to succeeding in the 21st Century. Combined, these skills are the future of work. Ms. Gold is interested in community-based projects that bring together the most creative minds and experimental thinkers. Innovation through collaboration has always been her mantra. She sits on numerous advisory boards, working groups and non-profits boards.
