Chewy is one of the largest internet pet retailers in the United States. I worked out of the Hollywood, Florida office. One of the main goals of this company was to keep the customer coming back. I learned to appreciate the human touch that this company emphasized. If a customer was grieving the loss of a pet, we would send flowers and a card, which is unprecedented. I received recognition from our VP of Customer Service for taking the time to listen and react in a way that made his experience memorable. WPBT2 had a television audience that spanned the Treasure Coast to the Florida Keys. I was brought into the newly-launched Interactive Media department. The last of my roles at this public television station was that of Web Developer Assistant where I learned to code on my own with no prior experience. My job was to keep the web content timely and to be in sync with the local public affairs programs we were airing. It also meant updating and building some of the sites we had. Here is what my duties included.* Collected, analyzed, and published content on several websites for WPBT2, including its Homepage, Monthly Online Program Guide, and programs such as Changing Seas, Check, Please! South Florida.* Developed, designed, and maintained websites utilizing the PBS BENTO content management system.* Performed quality assurance updates in applicable formats and coordinated graphical updates.* Updated PBS COVE Video on Demand system, adding WBPT2’s graphics to the templates, adding metadata, and converting videos to a digital format. * Distributed web video content to uVu (PBS), VIMEO, and YouTube* Learned web development quickly without prior training or experience.

I started my career here in WPBT2 as a fill-in for the Facilities Operations department. I loved it so much that I wanted to stay. I was hired permanently into the Production department and eventually came back to Facilities where I stayed for 9 years. Here is a list of my duties.✔️ Oversaw the department in the manager's absence.✔️ Maintained inventory of over 25,000 recorded media in the tape library and created tape format reports, ensuring organization and availability.💲 Recommended and implemented recording media reuse, increasing available space in the media library, and reduced costs by $10,000 annually. ✔️ Created schedules for the engineering department; utilized SchedulALL to compile and arranged data. 📡 Coordinated fiber and satellite transmissions (KU/C-Band/Bird) for internal station programs, including feeds for the Nightly Business Report and for external clients such as ESPN, MTV, and Bloomberg.

I wrote, produced, and voiced-over several spots for WPBT's Marketing Department. for their pledge drives. I also solicited restaurants for food donations, prepared pledge schedules, and created voice-over copy. I assisted the producer in timing roll-ins and out-cues for the director and operated the character generator. On occasion, I substituted as the producer in the control room when the supervisor served as on-air talent.
