I have been in the accounting field since 1999. I started as a CPA's assistant and then over the years increased my knowledge and skills through different jobs I held. I have experience in construction, manufacturing, engineering, and property management. Never content to remain where I am, I am always looking for ways to increase my skills and value. I willingly accept new responsibilities and fill in where needed. Not all the things I learn are specifically accounting, but many are business-related. I have completed my Bachelors degree in Accounting while also working full-time. At graduation (May 2015), my title went from "Office Manager/Bookkeeper" to "Controller" to reflect the degree received and increase in responsibilities. My basic responsibilities remain the same; however, I do more analyzing and forecasting of the numbers. Who doesn't love a good spreadsheet?
