Helping build out the analytics for Great Expectations, the leading open-source tool for data testing, documentation, and profiling.

Used open-source data tools and technologies (Apache Spark, Python, Ruby, R, bash) to do both one-off and automated monitoring and analysis of both SaaS application (product recommendations) performance and shopper behavior at e-commerce websites. Did extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams and implemented proof-of-concept projects for new reporting and new product features (focused on machine learning and data insights discoveries). Designed, wrote, and deployed to production a RESTful web service for internal business users to gain access to secure data sources, submit custom Spark queries against those data, retrieve their results, and more. Designed and implemented a Java front-end for that web service, as well as a back-end Spark job scheduler, and also deployed a Spark compute cluster. Containerized (docker) software and wrote scripts for continuous build and deployment of those docker containers to the cloud (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure), integrating our apps with cloud services such as identity management and object storage. My position was terminated in August 2022 as part of a larger reduction in force and reorganization of the business.

Helped build and improve statistical models used for generating e-commerce product recommendations. Did exploratory data analysis and wrote reports for e-commerce retailers about their website performance and shoppers’ behavior. ATG was acquired by Oracle in March 2011.

Helped build and improve statistical models used for generating e-commerce product recommendations. Designed and implemented a monitoring system for product recommendation performance on e-commerce websites. CleverSet was acquired by ATG in Feb. 2008.

Assisted in the analysis of monitoring data and preparation of reports on the condition of natural resources. Completed a Shipley Group writing workshop on environmental assessments and environmental impact statements under NEPA processes (National Environmental Policy Act).

Assisted in the preparation of performance and operation reports, as regulatory agencies require these of PacifiCorp (an electric distribution company). Assisted in research to help plan new transmission lines.

Assisted researchers at the Environmental Protection Agency in data analysis and publishing papers on the water quality and condition of wetlands in the eastern United States.
