Susan Mitchell is an educational leader in Health, Wellness and Mind-Body Science. Susan is a certified Pilates and RY-T yoga instructor. In 2001, Susan created The Tao of Movement Technique and published a book by the same title. Her technique integrates transformational learning exercises with healthy leadership practices. She guides individuals and organizations through the transitional and often stressful environments of internal and social change. She teaches people how to navigate paradigm changes by learning to understand and use the feeling of situational non-resistance as a tool. She does this through expert demonstrations and teaching the patient or group to experience change from a healthy state of being. She employs mind-body techniques and meditation to help patients experience this state. She has been quoted in Oprah Magazine and her company has received press in Yoga Journal, Fitness Magazine, fitcommerce.com and The Point. Susan has been involved with community education and outreach through Barnes and Noble. She has integrated her technique into IMG's training platform at the Performance Institute in Bradenton, Florida and worked in conjunction with Ms. Erin Olivo, former Director of The Integrative Medicine Department at NYP for Dr. Mehmet Oz. She has also worked in referral with Dr. Ellen Coyne, DC, Past President of The New York Chiropractic Association and Dr. Vijay Vad, Hospital for Special Surgery. Most recently, Susan has taught mind-body wellness and symptom management classes to cancer patients at Gilda's Club in NYC. In addition, Susan is a former professional dancer. She attended The Pa. Governor's School for the Arts and has received The Pa. Governor's School Award for "Sharing the Arts. Some of her credits include The Radio City Christmas Spectacular starring The Rockettes, The Broadway World Tour of "West Side Story" and "Phantom of the Opera". Susan interprets the body as a road map and translates movement as a universal language.
