Interpreted 3D seismic, used well log data, and created synthetics to characterize intervals in a partially sub-salt reservoir and interpret a depositional history of those intervals. Provided pre-drill geologic prognosis of reservoir properties prior to a long-term production well drilling campaign.

Three months as an onboard logging-structural scientist for Expedition 338, part of the NanTroSEIZE project. Monitored real-time logging data through a seismically chaotic and structurally challenging inner accretionary prism. Interpreted resistivity images and re-processed sonic logs to better characterize structural setting and related small scale structures to seismic and elastic properties in the prism.

Investigated attenuation of seismic signal through a heavy oil reservoir, from modeling through interpretation of various 3D and 2D datasets. Performed robust comparisons of processing methods and constructed finite-difference models to look at expected and actually visible frequency attenuation in order to assess ability to image available resource and areas of depletion.

Minneapolis, Mn

Collected cave sediment cores and analyzed samples using magnetometers, scanning electron microscope, and elemental analysis. Provided age constraints for cave sediments using detrital remanent magnetization as a proof of concept for investigating changes in climate of interglacial periods in Minnesota. Presented work as an undergraduate at the annual American Geophysical Union Conference.
