In my recent work development, I've had the opportunity to explore working with Agile principles. Embracing Kanban and Scrum has helped me to tremendously grow and discover many more ways for me to enact positive change both within myself as well as with the people I work with. It's amazing how much more compassionate, understanding people can become when we work in an environment where all ideas are welcome, and everyone feels equally empowered to embrace change and improvement. Like those around me, we feel zero tolerance for blocks to our work and strive in every sprint to eliminate even more. This is not about achieving efficiency, but really reexamining why we do what we do today and constantly redefining what brings value to our goals. It makes our work infinitely more meaningful when we push to remove what is simply senseless and repetitive work, shifting our focus to what matters for our customers' experience, as well as our business.
