I am in charge of the management of the budget for this collection, which is allocated at the beginning of the financial year.Achievements within the role:• I sourced 3 new vendors to supply quality new material.• I established a relationship with the Chinese Embassy leading to the donation of materials.• I established a relationship with the Korean Embassy leading to the donation of materials.• I established ties with the German Goethe-Institut leading to the donation of materials.• I assisted with the establishment of Wellington City Libraries Chinese Corner.• I assisted with the establishment of Wellington City Libraries Korean Corner.• Joining the LTI Korean Hub book donation programme.• I established an Indian language collection at the Kilbirnie branch library. • I established an eBook collection in Chinese.• I introduced the option to navigate the Overdrive website in Simplified Chinese. • I assisted with the evaluation and selection of titles for the Zinio database, an online magazine reading platform.• I have assisted the wider Collection Development Team with selection in the following areas: History, Performing Arts, Health, Adult Learning, Social Sciences, New Zealand Reference Collection, Maori Reference Collection, Adult Fiction, eBooks. In all areas I kept my budgets on target while providing a variety and balance of literature for the Central Library and the 11 branch libraries.
