Current- Technical lead and project manager for new product introduction (NPI) of photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for 5G transceiver applications
- Perform and delegate a range of technical tasks, including defining specifications, driving process-capability studies, process troubleshooting (8D), process optimisation and standardisation through close cooperation.
- Focus on process definition, validation, improvement and quality for efficient manufacturability, increased yield, reduced cycle time and cost of current and next generation III-V PICs
Principal Device Development Engineer
- Sivers Photonics (formally CST Global) produces optoelectronic chips for many applications, including data-center and PON transceivers. In this role, I:
- Built a multi-disciplinary team and lab on a six-figure budget to validate and verify C- and O-band laser chips to the required reliability for PON and data centers.
- Led DfM analysis of chip and wafer-level designs, reviewed wafer test maps and process SPCs in conjunction with test and product engineering teams to maximise yield on both CST product and commercial foundry wafers.
- With senior management, ensured the success of the company’s grant-funding, represented Sivers Photonics at review meetings with stakeholders & govt. bodies
Principal Design Engineer
- Kaiam Europe (now Broadex Technologies UK) provided transceivers for data-centers. In this role, in which I worked across three Kaiam sites, I:
- Built a multi-disciplinary team and lab on a six-figure budget and led development & validation of new photonic integrated circuits for next generation >100G transceivers. I led the technology transfer from the foundry.
- Hired and trained staff. Delegated and performed a range of technical tasks, including defining specifications. Liaised with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Regularly presented progress to executives, the board of directors and investors; provided technical input on product roadmap decisions with VP sales & marketing
