  • Cedar Communications
    Nutrimum Editor
    Cedar Communications Nov 2014 - Nov 2015
    London, United Kingdom
Launched a content-led website for the maternal nutrition brand from Danone. Its aim was to connect with information-seeking mums, explain the importance of maternal nutrition and Early Life Science, and showcase nutrimum product (new to the UK) and stockists. Key considerations were combing product and editorial and the legal requirements that affected site structure, creating sensitive pregnancy and breastfeeding articles, and a lifestyle photoshoot. Grew over 5,000 followers on Facebook in six months with minimal budget, with posts regularly receiving over 300 comments and up to 8,000 click throughs to articles. Improving website navigation immediately saw 25% more sessions and 33% more page views. Our ongoing data-led approach, SEO and optimisation resulted in provably engaging content and doubled brand awareness.
  • Cedar Communications
Tesco Mum Of The Year Awards Editor
    Cedar Communications Jul 2012 - Nov 2013
Ran the annual awards from nomination period to celebrity event and coordinated between the Tesco client, event company, PR company and Channel 5. I dealt with over 2,000 nominations, researched the shortlisted mums, organised the judging day, booked celebrities, interviewed the shortlisted winners, and fed into press releases to make sure all our content was aligned. I briefed in the mums' stories to the Channel 5 production team, attended VT filming days, and briefed celebrities at the event. I was the main point of contact with the winning mums for eight months. Edited the Mum of the Year microsite and created blogs, news and videos, implemented a social media strategy, and commissioned 15 mummy bloggers to create additional content. During the nomination period, Twitter parties and videos increased brand warmth and spread awareness. During the event, my team covered the celebrities and had a Twitter reach of 1.6 million. When the programme aired on Mother's Day we had a Twitter reach of over 0.5 million. I helped arrange a reception for the winners with Prime Minister David Cameron and tweeted live from the State Rooms. Our Twitter reach exceeded 2.5 million.Total PR value £11 million (not including social). Reach 1.5 billion.http://www.tescomagazine.com/mum-of-the-year.html
  • Redwood - Inspiring Content
    100Voices Brand Editor
    Redwood - Inspiring Content May 2010 - Jan 2011
Developed the creative strategy into a content-led multi-platform lifestyle brand (print, website, internet TV, social) to help students manage their money better, presented the pitch to Barclays and won the business. The ‘for students by students’ ethos was developed by investing in emerging talent – all content was created by students, from the features and video presenting to radio ads and fashion photo stories. I trained and mentored four graduate staff and 20 student or graduate writers. Together with the Periodical Training Council (PTC), which accredits journalism courses, a competition was set up to find a new student editor every six months to keep the brand fresh.Acted as producer on video content, from organising briefs and directing scripts to hiring crew and shaping the edit. Led the social media strategy, achieving successful click-through rates of 10% on Twitter, and wrote the script for our Spotify audio ad, achieving a fantastic 5% click-through rate (KPI 0.6%).100voices won highly commended for Best Launch and Best Integrated Marketing Solution and was shortlisted for Best Digital Solution at the 2010 APA awards.
  • Redwood - Inspiring Content
    Your Family Brand Editor
    Redwood - Inspiring Content Oct 2004 - Jan 2010
Launched 'Your family' magazine in March 2005 for the NSPCC, which aimed to help mums and dads become more positive parents. It had to appeal to the C1C2DE market who don’t buy parenting titles but enjoy weekly and celebrity media, reach vulnerable families and meet NSPCC diversity targets. My objective was to make the magazine accessible and integrate positive parenting messages without being worthy. Adopting the style of a woman’s weekly, I balanced lifestyle and celebrity content with issues such as bullying, domestic violence and sexual abuse. In 2008, a redesign kept Your family at the forefront of the market by making it more accessible and dynamic. I won Editor of the Year at the 2008 APA awards and was nominated at the BSME awards. The reader panel was built up to over 500 families who became hugely active in generating content. 91% of survey respondents read all or most of the magazine, with an average reading time of 39 minutes. 76% said they enjoyed it so much they would visit an ELC store just to pick up a copy. 89% said they felt better equipped to deal with family problems. 97% trusted the NSPCC to give them good parenting advice. In 2008, yourfamily.org.uk launched with over 1000 assets, including 14 videos, 300 articles, forums and tools. The 'Digital Nanny' advice tool contained over 60,000 words of expert advice that personalised to the user. Traffic doubled, despite no marketing budget, due to a SEO project, reciprocal links strategy and Facebook group. Users engaged with core content and on average spent 3.42 mins reading an article on spotting abuse, 7.33 mins on smacking and 5.10 mins on tantrums. 71% of parents said they picked up ideas and 82% said the quality of information was very good. 80% would recommend the site.Your family was nominated for 13 industry awards from 2005-2009.
