Susanna Novoa graduated with honors from McGill University in Montréal, with a BA in English Literature. She has over 20 years in the Advancement field, and started her development career at the Institute of Contemporary Art at the University of Pennsylvania. She has worked for a range of non-profit institutions in a fundraising capacity, including McGill University, the University of Pennsylvania, the Free Library of Philadelphia and currently The Mission Continues. She has direct experience in all facets of development, including major giving, grant writing, planned giving, event planning and management, prospect research, annual appeals, giving societies, corporate sponsorship and grant management. In addition, she has worked as a freelance contractor handling project management and development stewardship for clients such as Grimm & Grove and the Main Line Health System. She is a long-term member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.As a volunteer, Susanna has served on the scholarship committee of American Airlines, the Grant Review Committee of the Spruce Foundation, the Grant Review Committee of the Women’s Community Fund of Women’s Way, as the Secretary and a Trustee of the Friends Institute Granting Group, and as a Giving Circle Member and Group Member of Emerging Practitioners in Philanthropy.
