In this role, Susan is responsible for: • overseeing delivery of a global programme of successful lean six sigma improvement projects across the Firm to improve efficiency of legal services. Susan has personally driven change across all practice areas in the Firm, e.g. litigation, corporate, commercial, data, real estate, construction, white collar crime• optimising business services processes including recruitment, diversity and inclusion, commercial analysis, outside counsel guidelines review, information security reviews, etc.• leading legal operations improvement consulting engagements with BCLP clients, including operating model reviews, optimising budgeting, work allocation and vendor selection processes, KPI design and implementation, design and implementation of new triage tools and processes• taking a leading role in RfPs for wider Firm, typically as innovation/continuous improvement lead;• mentoring and delivering Lean / Ops Excellence training to clients and legal teams;• identifying opportunities for emerging technologies (e.g. AI, document automation and data management via the use of advanced case management systems), and managing selection and implementation;• owning the design, development and roll out of specific managed legal services products, and continuously improving them based on client feedback; and• representing BCLP's legal innovation capabilities at various events and attending CLOC and legal operations conferences to bring best practice back to the Firm.
