Vietnam e-commerce forum was held in January 2007 in Hanoi. It draw Vietnamese and world’s corporations attention to join. In this forum, many delegates suggested to establish a professional association that can gather corporations, organizations and individuals working in e-commerce.Then, some organizations, corporations and individuals positively lobbied to establish Vietnam E-commerce Association. On 25 June, 2007, Ministry of Home Affairs issued Decision establishing Vietnam E-commerce Association.E-Commerce Association of Vietnam (Vecom) is a non-governmental organization. Vecom’s memberships are corporations, organizations and individuals directly deal with e-commerce or apply e-commerce for operating business, or research or provide e-commerce services. Vecom operates on a voluntary basis and non-profit, for the purpose of gathering, uniting, cooperating, supporting and protecting all members to develop e-commerce in Vietnam. Vecom activities all over Vietnam, according to the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

Recognizing that situation, Vietnam Information Security Association (VNISA) was established as the first non-profit socio-professional organization, that is recognized by the State of Vietnam, in the field of information security. VNISA groups up individuals and organizations working in research, training, application and development of information security to guide to implementation of State guidelines in the application and development of technology, information security and give recommendations to government agencies in the formulation of development policies.
