I am currently working in the Billing Department. This includes marking claims, following up with insurance companies on claim status, inquiring on claim denials, speaking with and working with patients on past due accounts, etc.

•Woked in tandem with Underwriters, Claim Analysts, and Office Director in turning start-up company into a successful MGU.•Received, reviewed and documented all incoming notices for potential risk and kept Medical Management Director apprised of catastrophic conditions.•Assisted Claim Analyst with preparing incoming claims. Documented receipt of claims in the David Young System as well as soliciting additional information when necessary.•Worked with outside vendors in negotiating additional discounts as well as creating and maintaining a spreadsheet of activity.•Cross-trained to back-up underwriting assistant in preparing proposals and uploading documents into the David Young System for renewal requests and proposals.•Assisted with receipt of premium payments, recording transactions and making deposits.

Supervised and coached 24 members of our claim staff: seven claim examiners; six registered nurses; five overpayment specialists; three subrogation specialists and three reinsurance specialists. Managed workflow, analyzed work in process, provided technical expertise, and served as a primary claims contact.
