A significant proportion of my time was spent designing and delivering specifically for children 1:1 with a wide range of needs.

Responsible for the development and facilitation of: creative projects, creative consultation, training, mentoring, writing and directing. Back Office roles included working alongside the Operations Director in setting budgets, purchasing, recruiting artists, writing policies and strategies, overseeing contracts, marketing services and evaluating and reporting on work. Working within schools and a wide variety of community scenarios; youth groups, social care, study support centres and also with and in partnership with a number of national leading arts organisations.

Created to provide opportunities for those small community organisations and groups without the resources to employ specialists to deliver exciting and much needed projects and activities. As a Community Interest Company we developed and delivered creative participative projects to children, young people and their families, adults and older people in the East Midlands, with particular emphasis on work in Northamptonshire.

The role of the Creative Agent was to work with the school leadership team in order to support the development of creative learning and to contribute to school improvement. This was done by establishing a creative learning vision for the school that linked closely to the school development plan. The Creative Agent fostered an enquiry based approach and supported partnerships.

Multiple projects lead including with Adult Social Care Teams and their customers, looking at Personal Budgets. Practical arts workshops were run for customers throughout the county and a play, 'The Isle Of Light' was written based on their experiences and ideas which toured Northamptonshire in November 2009.

Milton Keynes Theatre (MKT) - Ambassador Theatre GroupMy roles included: Acting Education Manager for Milton Keynes Theatre and setting up and facilitating the regular Artsworld Interactive workshops for ages 7-11, 12-14 and 14-16 for three years. I was also founder and Director of Activ8 Youth Theatre for five years. I was also involved in the MK Community Project ‘A Sense of Place’, working alongside The David Glass Ensemble.The Stables Lead anamateur for Youth Music Funded 'Music Mites' early years music project. Included the development of students from Birmingham Conservatoire in music education workshop design and facilitation.Croyland Children’s Centre and Nursery SchoolAction Research project, developing creative methods of consultation with children, parents and children to develop their outdoor environment.Milton Keynes Arts Education Forum (MKAEF) As a freelance Arts Development Officer my role included:• Carrying out and overseeing all aspects of project management for the effective implementation of the Forum’s activities.• Managing and reporting to the Forum on budgets and finances and ensuring income targets are reached and expenditure is contained within approved limits.• Supporting teachers, arts organisations and other participants during projects in order to ensure their smooth running.• Appointing and managing freelance project workers.• Developing and implementing fundraising strategies and evaluation procedures for the Forum’s activities.New Perspectives Theatre CompanyI worked on three different projects with New Perspectives; ‘This Other Me’, ‘Heroes’ and ‘Firestarter’. All toured to Secondary Schools in Northamptonshire and Nottinghamshire. As Stage Manager and Workshop Facilitator I was responsible for liaising with schools to ensure that the event ran smoothly and designing and running the workshops following the performance.

Working on a part time basis, I developed and facilitated new arts projects for young people. My role included all aspects of running the company: drawing up yearly budgets and keeping monthly accounts, to ensure the smooth running of the administrative and financial processes and designing, marketing and implementing arts projects for young people in Corby. I obtained funding to enable them to happen and appointed artists. I also implemented evaluation procedures, wrote reports for both the Board of Management and funding bodies and wrote a Child Protection Policy for the company. I was a member of the Northamptonshire Forum for Arts Development (FAD) representing Corby up until the appointment of the Borough Arts Officer.
