The school is fully independent and serves a disadvantaged community to achieve as many students as possible, achieving their MSA and going on to fulfill their careers or further study. I work closely within my department to bring new pedagogical techniques focused on AI and personalised learning, to increase student engagement and overall performance. I have been successful at implementing parts of a new curriculum, which centers around more student interests and current issues that affect them, for example, worldwide conflicts and what it means in their community. The other half of my role is the development of a new school building that will include a wood/metal Lernwerkstatt, Makerspace, Mediathek Studio, a new Library, and several group rooms for temporary projects. In the long term, we wish to develop a new idea around what school means, both for the student, their family, and the local community. We wish to expand our reach by using the school as a hub, ensuring that families and connected persons feel supported and engaged in school projects. This, in turn, should forge better links with those who can support us in obtaining work and learning opportunities outside of the school walls. School is no longer just a learning destination, but the physical representation of a successful community. Show less

I worked closely with SEN children, ranging from severe autism, Asperger’s, dyslexia and dyspraxia to behavioural issues. I established and strengthened close relationships with parents, who developed trust in me and who respect my professional opinion in their child’s learning. I increased engagement with the parental community in providing workshops for phonics and reading help at home that proved successful.• I worked closely in a large team including Senior Leadership and the school’s SENCo, which gave me many opportunities to observe quality first teaching. I would often be in touch with potential clients for months, trying to guide them towards the right decision for their own individual circumstances. I also gained a unique insight into other areas of the property industry that were involved in off market deals including criteria for investment deals, how deals are brokered and also the involvement of residential clients in working with property professionals. I really enjoyed helping to create an overall network of offices and dedicated much of my time in a support role to the entire Scottish Property Network. This included wider implementation of the same roles, responsibilities, tasks and aims that applied to my own business to the entire network, being sensitive to the fact that it was also independent businesses that I was working with. My experience in change management from acting as Project Manager over a business's most difficult period (an entire re-brand) held me in good stead for achieving the same objective with other individual offices. I was responsible for all correspondence to each of the 6 advisors, as well as overseeing accounts work. • A key focus in my position was events for not only Head Office but also the full network of over 150 Associates and Office Owners. In September 2011, I successfully organised the Annual Awards, held at the Hilton Strathclyde, which celebrated the success of the company over the previous year. This included a full luncheon, prize giving, photography session and key training from RE/MAX Europe. I was complimented on how well the day was run by attendees. • Training and development of the network was all held at Headquarters and I personally attended to each course – from the catering to any document preparation. This ranged from afternoon sessions to trainees attending for a full week.• I organised the day-to-day running of the office - this encompassed all mail, faxes, telephone calls, stationary orders, couriers and any health and safety issues that arise. • As Complaints Officer for the network, I demonstrated empathy, patience and discretion within my role, even under extremely high-pressured environments.
