In 2018, I moved back to the U.S. after two years in the Netherlands. I was lucky enough to land a job at an amazing company, Universal Avionics, and was very excited to start this next chapter of my life. The years 2015-now have been quite an adventure. I fulfilled several of my top bucket list items - lived in Europe, was the owner/operator/chef of my own restaurant, and edited several historical books on World War history that were published. Here we are in 2022 and I have been with Universal Avionics for over four years and am still so happy being part of this company! I highly recommend UA as a great place to work. "Burning Bridges" and "Bridges Are Ours" (written by Peter Hendrikx and Michel De Trez, edited by Suzanne Ryan, and published by D-Day Publishing) is a two-volume pictorial history of the 82nd Airborne's role in Operation Market Garden during WWII. These books are the culmination of 35 years of airborne history research and include 976 pages with over 1,600 photographs, most of which have never been published before. All photos are identified either by date, location, name of individual soldier(s), equipment, or historical context. This resulted in erudite and extensive captions. Photos of rare, identified airborne equipment, documents, and artifacts from the museum collections of December '44 and D-Day Experience are throughout the book. Extensive research in American and British archives provides documented-based evidence and analysis for a better understanding of why Operation Market Garden ultimately failed in its mission. Publishing date: September 17, 2017. Carentan Part II - Jumping Behind Enemy Lines is the second in a five-part series and covers regiments of the 101st Airborne Division. A compilation of three prestigious collections, these rare airborne images are undoubtedly the most impressive work published on this subject. American historian Mark Bando, along with Emmanuel Allain and Michel De Trez of D-Day Experience Museum in St. Come du Mont, and edited by Suzanne Ryan, joined forces to merge their knowledge and collections. Never before has the epic liberation of Carentan and linking of the American invasion beaches by the 101st Airborne been covered with such attention to detail. This book is in hardcover with 368 pages and over 450 illustrations. Published in June 2019.Carentan Pt. III - Bloody Drop Zone - Premises of the Attack on St.-Come-du-Mont.
