Experienced peacebuilding and peace mediation practitioner supporting locally-led peace and reconciliation processes in the Horn of Africa. I have 15 years of progressive programmatic and research experience working with a wide variety of actors in Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Kenya, and Malawi with a focus on peacebuilding, peace mediation, transitional justice, and human rights.I have experience working with civil society, governments, victims/survivors groups, and conflict actors, including non-state armed groups in achieving sustainable impact in peace and reconciliation processes. I have a particular interest in supporting the development of victim-centred dealing with the past mechanisms, and working with non-state armed groups in their engagement in peace and transition processes and transformation to political parties.Received peace mediation training for practitioners organised by the Swiss Federal Department for Foreign Affairs (2022) and conflict mediation training for practitioners in conflict zones at USIP (2016).
