About Scott Van Pelt

I'm a passionate educator, author, practitioner, and frequent speaker on the field of higher education. As an experienced facilitator, I've designed and delivered sessions on communication skills, leadership, and DEI to audiences as varied as graduate student leaders in Wharton's Non-Profit Board Fellows Program, crypto-based startup teams in Wharton's Cypher Accelerator program, visiting scholars with the Fulbright Program, and certificate students in the Strategic Leadership in Education Program at Penn's Graduate School of Education. In a prior role, I oversaw the design and delivery of several required communication courses in Wharton's MBA program. As a thought leader in the education space, I've designed and led organizational development workshops for dozens of institutions and organizations across North America.Currently, I'd proud to serve as the Director of Research and Faculty Affairs at the University of Pennsylvania's Graduate School of Education. In this role, I design initiatives and processes that support Penn GSE's faculty across a variety of areas. My past work includes diverse experience in academic advising, student affairs, curriculum design, educational research, and non-profit management.
