Svenja is a CSR professional with more than ten years of experience in the financial sector and a strong passion for sustainability and supporting sustainable transformation.Specialising in sustainable finance, she is well up to date on current regulatory developments, such as the EU Actionplan on Financing Sustainable Growth, NFRD / CSRD / ESRS, EU taxonomy, CSDDD, etc.She is also experienced in “classical” sustainability communication according to the GRI Standards and gained experience in additional reporting requirements such as TCFD, PRI and PSI, disclosure of human rights due diligence and Communication on Progress on UNGC principles.Svenja has long term experience in cooperative stakeholder dialogues including managing and analysing sustainability ratings and questionnaires including CDP, ISS ESG, MSCI, Sustainalytics, and enquiries from NGOs. Having substantial experience in managing controversial business activities as well as reputational risks, she conceptualised NORD/LB’s reputational risk management along with the compliance unit, and assessed national and international corporate lending proposals. At Hannover Re, she is working closely together with the risk management and regulatory affairs units. Also, Svenja is well connected in the “sustainable finance family” through her participation in different internal and external sustainability bodies and associations such as VfU/UNEP FI, DSGV and VOEB. She’s also experienced in training staff members of all levels on ESG-issues and sustainability matters, always striving to take them along on the sustainability journey.Svenja holds a degree in economics and business administration by the University of Bremen and a second academic degree as an MBA in Sustainability Management by the University of Lueneburg. She also achieved an IPMA/GPM level D certification in October 2018 as an international recognition of her knowledge about managing projects. Further to this, she is a certified paramedic and has extensive experience in training adults in EMT classes.
