I'm excited to be a new member of the communications team with the Society for Personality and Social Psychology, whose mission is to advance the science, teaching, and application of social and personality psychology.

I design and execute communications plans, measuring progress toward goals through analytics and using those insights to inform the development of future plans. I create content in a variety of formats, including blog posts, graphics, e-mail blasts, social media posts, videos and virtual events such as webinars. I also manage the Coalition’s outreach with journalists as well as community partners across the U.S., establishing the Coalition as an trusted voice and authority on issues related to advanced care.

I support the AAAS Chief Communications Officer and the News & Information team by handling a variety of website-production and posting duties as well as media relations tasks, often under tight deadlines. This includes posting news content to the AAAS.org home page and news / events pages within the Drupal 7 content management system; generating customized media lists from a database; posting event notices to the website; e-mailing media advisories and daybook notices to journalists via Mail Chimp; sizing artwork for online posting; developing media-placement reports for the Board of Directors; managing and producing content for the AAAS Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Each week, I help to produce a press package which showcases research published in the journal Science Advances. This involves collaborating with authors, using multimedia as a tool to further illustrate and tell the story of their work.This package is then sent to reporters, in order to promote media coverage of our research. I respond to queries from authors, press officers and reporters regarding the various Science press packages. I also write stories for AAAS.org, covering the organization's various projects and achievements.

I assist the editors of www.edweek.org in producing stories from Education Week's magazine for the website. This involves using HTML coding to add in links, photos, and other elements that make stories stand out to an online audience. It also involves using a content management system to distribute content online in an efficient and organized way. I also help to maintain Education Week's social media presence, engaging with our large online audience through Twitter and Facebook.

I assist with an Advanced Audio Production class by playing music and helping them record audio to use with their projects.

Salisbury University

I help to form the club on our school's campus. I helped to organize fundraising events for different charities and non-profit organizations involved with the club. Last year, we raised over $5,000 for the Charity:Water organization which we used to build a clean-water well for an impoverished village in Africa.
