Australian Permanent ResidentI worked on the oil rigs where I was stationed offshore as a field engineer, formulating, testing and conditioning drilling fluids. I also worked onshore as a plant engineer, overseeing the plant supervisor/foreman and getting my hands dirty when our deadlines loomed or when we had problems requiring special attention or out-of-the-box thinking.I proceeded into the Renewable Energy field where I became Technical Manager of two companies.I ran the energy efficiency company, doing business development, drawing up and/or reviewing quotes and I was tasked with approving quotes and work breakdown to other employees. I did technical assessments of various industrial sites, on which I developed technical reports on potential energy and/or cost saving opportunities. I was tasked with approving every technical report. I developed training material and delivered these training sessions to plant staff, often adapting my method of delivery on the fly depending on how I read my crowd.In the project development company I was tasked with stakeholder management and basic FEED engineering. I had to get permits and licences in place for the various stages of the project which meant I had to learn about the legislation, geology, environmental factors, financial model, socio-economic development etc. I was also tasked with writing technical requests for government funding, do feasibility studies and write it up, and authoring correspondence for governmental entities.In the time I had available in between all of this I was contracted out to another company to develop specialised fertilisers. Mostly lab work, proof of concept or determining optimal concentrations. For one of the projects I built a pilot plant on my own.I am the employee you need when time is of the essence and you need a novel approach.
