About Scott Haney

I have more than 25 years of experience as a software architect, developer, and technical project leader. During the course of my career, I have been able to successfully deliver complex software in a wide variety of subject areas including financial derivatives, trading systems, plasma and laser fusion system optimization, plasma simulation, and high-performance parallel computing. I am particularly proud of being one of the key architects of the POOMA framework which was one of the first attempts to use modern C++ meta-programming and template techniques in high-performance scientific computing. I understand enterprise application architecture, object-oriented design, object-oriented programming, generic programming, component-based programming, and design patterns at a very deep level. I have expert knowledge of Microsoft .NET technologies, C#, and ANSI/ISO C++ and I am proficient with Java. I have a strong familiarity with debugging and optimization on platforms ranging from massively parallel supercomputers to PCs (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X). I have co-led a distributed, international development effort involving more than 20 developers.
