When you boot up for a hard day's work—and everything just 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘴—isn’t that a great feeling? How about when the applications you depend on are simply efficient and accomplish what you need, when and how you need it? Or possibly better yet, when you break into crucial data that just makes sense, granting key insights for the outcomes desired? I’m sure those are all ingredients to your smooth and productive day—mine too. No matter how much we can appreciate when our tools, information, and ways of working are just the way we need them, few of these things begin that way and over time, even fewer stay that way. Each passing day our already complex operations face new problems, their solutions are increasingly difficult to build, and the technologies we lean on to do so more demanding to support. What gets me out of bed every day is the opportunity to tackle these kinds of challenges (and all the little pieces between) so you don’t have to. I put the customer and end-user at the center of everything I do. Novel and enduring solutions are a product of inquiring teams who listen, understand, and build around the big picture. I cut my teeth leading programs in software systems engineering where early in career I learned a systems-thinking approach not only appropriately focuses our efforts, but too best serves our near- and long-term goals alike. Experiencing the value of these structured methods in action, I pursued an advanced degree in this discipline to refine my knowledge in the engineering of technical and human systems. With principle experience in healthcare, clinical research, IT infrastructure, and retail technologies, I’ve sharpened a diverse skillset across product development, systems implementation & integration, and technology operations. I am neither an enterprise-minded generalist nor a detailed engineer, but instead someone who both lives for the trees while keeping the forest in focus. I appreciate any opportunity to wade through complex data, bring application code to life, and compose detailed specifications as much as I do conceptualizing solutions, architecting systems, and managing programs.
