Software Planner partners with Sales and engages with customers in a pre-sales capacity to develop detailed Scopes of Work. Customer partners include both clinical oncology service line managers as well as Hospital IT teams. SOWs will be created for Varian’s larger more strategic partners in North America, often with customers having significant complexity. Projects often include implementing Varian software (ARIA, Eclipse, etc.) on cloud or on-premise virtualized platforms (FullScale). Projects often integrate complex, multi-site, multi-disciplinary oncology clinics and integrate with Varian hardware and hospital IT infrastructure. Levels of detail within the SOW range from high level presentations and diagrams to detailed thirty page documents including elaboration of phased approaches, timelines, work breakdowns, network diagrams and customer resource requirements. The successful Software Planner will partner with Sales team and travel when necessary in vital client-facing meetings and represent Varian’s ability to implement software that delivers high client satisfaction. The ideal candidate understands best practices around hand-off of documentation and knowledge to downstream Project Management teams through internal calls and participating in project kick-off calls.

• Develop, Scope, Schedule, Execute and Control as many as 25 projects on an ongoing basis. • Application of knowledge, skills, tools and techniques throughout the Project Life Cycle from Initiation through Closure while controlling cost, risk, time and scope management while keeping customer satisfaction levels high. • Extensive interaction with sales and other members of cross-functional internal and customer teams including IT, administration, clinical through communication including Project Management Plans, agenda, minutes, e-mail and telephone communications • Projects involve installations and acceptance of capitalized equipment and enterprise software systems, system integration and consulting projects/engagements. • Knowledge of network design, software controls systems, and server management. • Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Timeline, SAP and PowerPoint. • Projects typically focused on the delivery of new or enhanced products to improve customer satisfaction through the use of technology.
