I've been teaching ESL in Barcelona since 2008 and began teaching online in 2014. Since2020, most of my classes have been virtual, although I prefer face to face classes. I’vealways been technological in my approach in my online classes. In 2014, I had my firstvirtual classes over the phone. I would use a Google Doc in real time as a virtualwhiteboard -- students have to see what they are hearing and visualize corrections.Presently, I’ve begun to incorporate AI tools in my lesson planning to make material morecomprehensive, tailoring material more easily to students needs and goals.My primary focus has been Business English, which I've been teaching both privately,through language agencies, and for more than a decade at two universities in Barcelona. Ihave excellent classroom management skills, cutting my teeth on University groups aslarge as 40 students of mixed levels in one class. I use teaching methodologies likeTask-Based Learning, TPR, Content-Based Instruction, Text Analysis, Role-play, andGameplay.
