Undergraduate Productions Technical Director
Designed and built an LED floor for use in Fun Home. The floor, made of mdf and plexiglas, was able to create different shapes an images when the LEDs were illuminated but looked like a standard wood floor when they were off. The mdf pieces were locked together using a custom pinning method and the LEDs were laid into grooves cut into the mdf using a Shopbot. The whole system was controlled remotely between two Arduinos using radio frequency links to ensure that the floor could be controlled remotely from the tech booth.
